SMOKE & FUME EXHAUSTER CUM AIR BLOWER WITH FLEXIBLE HOSE CONNECTION & REGULATOR
HOSE SIZE: 2.5 to 3 inch dia
SUPPLY: 3 PHASE, or single phase CAP: 2 HP
The purpose of blower and exhauster is to provide the supply of fresh clean air to person working who may be working in unventilated places or to exhaust accumulation of foul air, fumes and smoke from storage tanks, ships# holds, godowns etc.
The blower and exhauster consists of the following parts:
a) Impeller,
b) Casing,
c) Hood for hose connection (for blowing air on specific target / exhausting gas)
d) Hood for connecting Blower pipe
e) Suction mouth with wire fabric,
f) Prime mover and
g) Frame with lockable wheels and lifting handles.
Frame with lifting handles MS pipe IS: 1239 (Part 1)- 1979§ and it shall have four wheel with two lockable wheels.
Material of Construction: frp and chemical resistance impeller used
CONSTRUCTION
Impeller and prime mover will be mounted together and the total weight of the unit with fuel is not more than 60 kg.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT
1) The blower shall be tested accordingly to method given in IS 941-
1985.
2) The blower shall be capable of discharging safely and continuously 45
M3/minute of free air.
3) Suction mouth / Inlet of the exhauster shall be provided with wire mesh to prevent entry of any foreign object or body part of the operator. It shall have arrangement for fixing flexible hose for sucking from closed space.
4) Out let of the exhauster /blower shall be such that it can accommodated either hood for hose (4# dia) connection or hood for connecting respiratory blower pipes.
Hood for hose connection (for blowing air on specific target / exhausting gas):
1) The hood shall be made up from frp/sheet. It shall have arrangement for attaching it to the blower easily with gasket for leak free performance.
2) The out let of the hood shall be such that 3inches dia flexible hose (canvas/PVC) can be fitted.
Hood for connecting Blower pipe
The hood shall be made up from frp /sheet. It shall have arrangement for attaching it to the blower easily with gasket for leak free performance.
The out let of the hood shall be provided with outlets (min. six) for connecting respiratory blower pipe. The out lets shall be of male type and all such out lets shall be provided with blind caps with chain so as to prevent missing while the connection is being used. The fitting shall be such that it can accommodate the Female coupling of flexible air hose connection.
Blower pipe for fresh air breathing in case required extra
The flexible pipe of 20mm dia and 30 mts length meant for breathing shall be made from PVC # virgin material having strengthened for kink free performance. On one end, it shall be provided with aluminum female coupling with in let dia # and out let dia. with swivel joint, gasket and clamp to prevent leakages.
The coupling shall be such that it can be easily fit on the male coupling provided on the blower hood outlet.
On other end it shall have arrangement for fixing regulator for breathing mask.
Prime mover
The prime mover shall be 2 HP 3 phase, intrinsically safe (flame proof enclosure) motor having approval from DGFASLI. The motor shall be provided with intrinsically safe starter and protective relays.
OPERATIONAL TEST
Blower and exhauster shall be run continuously for 2 hours. It shall remain stable and shall not move from its place by more than 30 cm. All the components shall be checked and there shall not be any looseness
